ACC Limited wins Gold award in “COVID Protection Project” category by India Health & Wellness Summit 2021

ACC Limited, one of India's leading building materials companies, has been honored with the Gold Award in the "COVID Protection Project" category at the 7th India Health & Wellness (IHW) Awards held during the India Health & Wellness Summit in Delhi.

The award was presented by Mr. Ramdas Athavale, Honorable Minister of State, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, recognizing ACC Limited's outstanding contribution towards protecting communities and supporting people during the COVID-19 pandemic through various social and healthcare initiatives.

Known for its commitment to people and communities, ACC Limited intensified its efforts during the pandemic by partnering with local government authorities to conduct disinfection drives across communities, helping safeguard approximately 600,000 people.

Supported by a strong network of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), ACC TRUST, the CSR arm of ACC Limited, stitched and distributed more than 700,000 cotton masks. The organization also collaborated with three reputed NGOs to distribute over 280,000 cooked meals to daily wage earners, migrant workers, and slum residents affected by lockdown restrictions in Delhi and Mumbai.

Extensive COVID-19 Relief Efforts

ACC Limited was among the first corporate organizations to respond to the national health crisis and positively impacted nearly 900,000 people across 145 villages, 12 municipalities, and two metro cities spanning 12 states.

The company established eight oxygen generation plants and supplied nine ventilators to strengthen healthcare infrastructure. In addition, ACC provided 432 oxygen jumbo cylinders and facilitated the deployment of 632 oxygen concentrators, of which 262 were handed over to government authorities.

Recognition for Nation-Building Efforts

The India Health & Wellness Awards recognize organizations that contribute significantly to improving healthcare and community well-being across the country. In its seventh edition, approximately 150 award applications were reviewed by the IHW Council, with 70 companies, healthcare institutions, hospitals, and non-government organizations receiving Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards for their exceptional contributions.

The recognition highlights ACC Limited's commitment to corporate social responsibility and its continued efforts toward creating a positive impact on society during one of the most challenging periods in recent history.
